Do not meet the English requirements?

If you do not meet the English language requirements for your SAIBT program, you can enrol in an English language program at the Centre for English Language in the University of South Australia (CELUSA).

CELUSA specialises in helping students improve their English for undergraduate study. Located in the same building as SAIBT, on the City East campus of UniSA, the Centre provides students with on-campus English language support. CELUSA offers IELTS testing, Academic English (AE), as well as a Mixed Program. http://unisa.edu.au/celusa/

Academic English

This program is designed for students with a minimum IELTS 3.5 (or equivalent) who need to meet the English language admission requirement of SAIBT. The length of your English language program will depend on your level when you begin and the language requirements of your SAIBT program, but as a guide, students will normally need to complete 10 weeks of study for every 0.5 improvement needed in the overall IELTS score.

Mixed Program

The Mixed Program is offered by CELUSA and is designed for students who have an IELTS score 5.0 (or equivalent) and wish to study one academic course at SAIBT at the same time as completing an Academic English Language program (a total of 20 hours per week). Students can study either a course from the Certificate IV or a course from the Diploma of Business. The Mixed Program can be completed across three SAIBT semesters. Semester 1 of the program requires students to complete the Academic English program at CELUSA, along with one SAIBT Academic course.

Upon successful completion, students go on to complete the remaining seven academic courses over the next two SAIBT semesters.
