What do you like most about each subject?

Physics gives you insights to nature.

How would you describe your teaching style?

With lots of student interaction. My aim is to get students to discover the concepts themselves, with some guidance from me!

What else can you tell us about yourself?

I love music and play keyboards in a band called 'Mid Life Crisis'!

Your tip for university success:

University is full of new things. Education is not job training so look outside your course and discover new things. Think freely.

What do you teach at SAIBT?

Economics

What do you like most about each subject?

The world revolves around economics so everyone is affected by these decisions and it is important to have an understanding of these principles.

How would you describe your teaching style?

Relaxed. I like to present the principles and theories and then allow the students to participate and discuss real life applications.

What else can you tell us about yourself?

I have three children and I enjoy most sports, especially Australian Rules Football and Cricket.

Your tip for university success:

Set your goals beyond just completing the course including developing life skills for your next career step after university. Also find a balance between working hard academically and having another outlet such as sport or another social interest.

Diploma of Business: Principles of Economics

What do you like most about each subject?

Helping and getting students to understand the basics about economics by simplifying the concepts.

How would you describe your teaching style?

Easy to understand and students are not afraid to approach and ask questions.

What else can you tell us about yourself?

I love going overseas and experience other cultures around the world.

Go to class ; Pre-read lecture material; Use your time wisely and don't fall behind; Get your questions resolved ASAP; Take extensive notes; Begin study for exams early

What do you teach at SAIBT?

Diploma of Health Sciences: Lifespan Development and Cultural Perspectives on Health

What do you like most about each subject?

Lots of human dimensions in my subjects, the first is how people change throughout the lifespan, the second is how culture affects health. We have lots of vibrant and interesting discussions and the students have many perspectives, it is never dull.

How would you describe your teaching style?

Engaging, encouraging every student to participate. I also learn from THEM every semester.

Your tip for university success:

Don't be afraid to ask questions, of your tutor, fellow students, or the reception folks at SAIBT. Help is there for you, come willingly to learn and you shall find it an enriching experience.
